Hyundai has always believed in setting standards, raising the bar and levelling the playing field. This mentality has made Hyundai one of the leading carmakers in the country.
December was a great month for Hyundai in India. Hyundai ended the year with highest ever single month production with 71,178 units in December 2020. India’s choice of sub-compact suv, the Creta had a point to prove with sales standing at 47,400 units over the country making Hyundai the N0.1 SUV maker in India. Hyundai clocked 66,750 units at a YoY growth rate of 33.14%. The newly launched i20 has recorded 8,000 units in December.
S S Kim, MD and CEO of Hyundai Motors India was ecstatic when he spoke about ending the year on a high note, saying “Innovative initiatives such as Click-to-Buy and Hyundai Mobility Membership to the launch of Auro, new Creta, new Verna, Tucson and i20 coupled with multiple powertrain options, have reflected in our domestic sales that achieved new horizons, with Hyundai managing to increase market share for the second year in succession. Looking towards the future, we are proceeding with cautious optimism and positively anticipate green shoots of recovery in 2021.”
With its new and sophisticated design and ample features, the i20 is set to take the premium hatchback segment in 2021.
